Somehow it never occurred to me to notice the trees around the border of the neighborhood which makes me think it is just in a forest clearing somewhere
Additionally before I noticed this I was already considering in the grey Wally au that home and the neighborhood and whatnot was in a very secluded forest clearing MILES from any kind of civilization
#I thought of it like the magical forest in frozen 2#with the mist n stuff#and Eddie didn’t think anything would happen if he crossed said mist bc that’s where he needed to go

Thoughts on the IGN DA:TV 22 min gameplay - Crossroads portion
this post is under a cut due to what some peeps may consider spoilers, and length.
[Lighthouse portion link]
I began writing this post today before the progression video released, I wanna clear out the draft. don't look at me HH.
Coming into the Crossroads, again I'm curious to know if elf lineage Rooks will perceive it differently than the other Rooks, as in DA:I.
Left: The Lighthouse eluvian leads out to Solas' pocket area of the Crossroads. The area around the eluvian is called Beacon Island. It makes sense; lighthouses in the mundane world are often on islands, and they are beacons. in the Fade, the island floats in the 'air', and the Fade is often referred to with watery language & symbolism. Center: I've decided that I think these golden posts are the 'change party' points. You see them at multiple points throughout the video. The icon has three helmets (and parties are Rook+2). I feel like if we click on this it will take you to the party selection screen. Also, the gold-and-cyan coloring of the post reminds me of the color scheme of the lyrium dagger. We know that Rook can use the dagger to channel companions' special abilities in their absence. it makes sense that the [essentially] 'summon party member themselves button' is themed in the same way. Right x2: These blue lamps are all over Beacon Island. I wondered if they were also part of what gave Beacon Island its name (lamp - light - beacon), but then I remembered that we have also seen these elsewhere, like in this screenshot. what if that scene and the final battle (or whenever this key event takes place) isn't actually set in the Black City like we thought? what if that's the ruins of Beacon Island and the Lighthouse, under attack from the gods and their darkspawn army? if they can assault the Crossroads, why not the Lighthouse? Corypheus attacks your base at two key points in DA:I. what trips me up a bit is in the background of the dragon shot are the Evanuris head-shape statues like a Fade reflection of the Arlathan Forest ritual site, not this island. but the Fade is a changeable realm and the 'landscape' of Skyhold also changes when Corypheus attacks due to his influence. they could just like, appear.
The ancient elven tree asset from DA:I. It has an icon on the mini-map, so it's either a landmark or has some sort of interactable function. Among the branches it glows with magical energy, as a device it's active. What's it for? A power source? A defense thing? I could see an argument for it basically being a magical defense turret. At the base are two frozen figures, reminding of Solas' Trespasser power to petrify people. I feel like on one of them at least I can see a pointed elven ear. Were these people attacking the base (and are left there as a warning), or were they fleeing? Did the device freeze them? Or a person?
Left: big dog 👍 Center top: DA:I Falon'Din owl statue asset on Beacon Island, to the right as you exit the Lighthouse eluvian. There are at least two of these. Owls are also associated with Andruil. Center bottom: This is a tile thing on the ground that Rook walks over on Beacon Island. I turned it upside down here because I think if you flip it and squint it kind of looks like the shape of a wolf's head. Right: There are multiple points from which to take the Caretaker's transport boat. I'm so curious about how big and extensive the Crossroads are.
At this point Rook has some very interesting dialogue concerning the lyrium dagger.
Rook: "Wait. The lyrium dagger's... vibrating. Like a song in a wine glass. Are those voices?"
Why is it vibrating, what does it sense? this trope (not using the term in a negative way) is usually like 'it senses something bad coming' or 'it's near something that calls to it'. The song part reminded me of the red lyrium idol, as described in Tevinter Nights. some people who go near it in one of the short stories hear music in the wind, like a old song they used to know as kids. the song later stops when they stash the idol in a special chest. blue lyrium itself is said to sing, or be described in that kind of imagery. for example, dwarven miners who find it in rock by ear claim they can hear the Stone singing, and Justice says that lyrium doesn't sing in the Fade. In Asunder Rhys hears a song when someone gets a lyrium potion. etc
"Wine glass" also interested me :) Wine is a liquid and the Fade is frequently described in watery imagery. and back to the red lyrium idol for a second, the narrator in TN tells us "When I hefted it in my hand, it was like it wanted to keep moving, like it was liquid inside." Same with the voices. When Bartrand had possession of the idol, he began hearing voices. when the camera pans over the idol in the 2018 DA4 teaser trailer, there is audio that arguably sounds like ominous whispering. I'm not sure if I think the blue lyrium knife has anything to do with the red lyrium idol or if it's simply a case of lyrium things in general have singing, voices etc, but it's what came to mind. If there are two daggers, one red and one blue, like we saw in the DA:TV bonus card pack.. well, a ritual-blade sprang from the base of the red lyrium idol in TN. what if the blue lyrium dagger is from the base of a blue lyrium idol, or if it's the one from the red lyrium idol only Solas was somehow able to cleanse it?
There are some familiar assets and repeating assets in this area, some of differing sizes, like griffon statues, Warden statues etc. this makes sense as the Crossroads reflects the waking world. :)
The Caretaker from the side with their glowing blue oar. their 'body' is like the redesigned spirits/demons as being of emotion, with veins like this giving the impression of a nervous system.
Our hero is confronted by a Pride demon, imposing and armored as in previous games, yet accented by exposed, bright lines that seem to burst from its ribcage. “They are a creature of raw negative emotion,” Busche says. “So we wanted to actually incorporate that into their visual design with this glowing nervous system.” -- Edge magazine article on DA:TV -- “demons in general got a bit of a revamp to more closely align their look you. see it with shades and the pride demon as well. they’re creatures of emotion so they have a spectral nervous system look” [source].
The Caretaker piloting the boat like this is giving Charon the ferryman from Greek mythology.
In the post on the Lighthouse area, I wrote about the top center image here,
this symbol was on the minimap, in front of the Fen'Harel statue. I think it’s this one (left), which we saw in the high-level warrior combat gameplay video. it’s some sort of collectable in the sort of way that gold/coin is. I guess this is where we go to use or spend this thing perhaps, whatever they are? maybe it’s for Lighthouse upgrades? maybe it’s what we spend at or trade to the mysterious “enchanter” who helps us with crafting at the Lighthouse?
When I saw the Caretaker's helmet-shape from the front when Rook took ship, I realized that it reminded me of the symbol on the minimap in the Courtyard and the symbol for that collectable/resource.
When the dev commentary then called the Caretaker a "mysterious spirit" I thought this might be the mysterious "enchanter who helps us with crafting at the Lighthouse", and wondered if the Courtyard helmet symbol on the map near the blue fire in front of the Fen'Harel statue would be where we could summon 'shop version' of them to do that. (remember this post was in the middle of being written out today when a new video dropped hh). we learned today that they have their Workshop there and you spend Mementos (represented by the helmet shape near gold coins) at it. :)
The prow of the ship looks like a carved mabari head and the ship reminds me of a DA:I asset.
When the boat 'lands', this new area of the Crossroads is called the Heights of Athim. This caught my eye because isn't there a mysterious elf introduced in The Wigmaker Job called Athima? Lucanis takes Illario on a shortcut on their way to work. They go through an archway to a courtyard where a statue of a vhenadahl stands. Lucanis touches a groove that opens a secret passage in the statue. They go in and down a winding set of stairs. Torches of green Veilfire are nailed to the walls. At the bottom an elf in a scarlet coat called Athima guards a big door. They tell her they want to go up, she claps her hands together, the Veilfire goes out, the room spins. The Veilfire comes back on and when she opens the door it takes them to a different spiral staircase. Illario asks Lucanis wtf that was and he tells him it was a perk given by their mysterious benefactor. What was this? :D idk, doesn't it sound a bit pocket dimension, Crossroady? Veilfire? And here are "Heights of Athim".
When Harding says "Neve! She always gets the job done", it reminded me of the previous info that Harding and Neve have wholesome interactions, and the descriptors of Neve as capable, competent etc. it's nice to see them supporting one another :)
In this video we have our first proper look at mage gameplay. :D
This moment was so randomly cute because it looks like Rook has protectively put their arm around Harding's shoulders while telling off the darkspawn like DON'T TALK TO ME OR MY SON EVER AGAIN hhh.
At this point there's a gold chest off to one side. I liked hearing examples of combat barks, comments and banter. Neve explains a bit about how templars work in Tevinter to southern Harding. Their banter here is as follows:
Harding: Do templars really not have authority over mages in Tevinter? What happens if there’s blood magic? What do they do? Neve: Depends on the templar. Depends on who’s bought their loyalty Harding: What do you do when the authorities can’t be trusted to do the right thing? Neve: That’s how I keep busy.
This reminded me soo much of a promotional video for DA4 once upon a time where the devs said that "We want to tell a story of what happens when you don't have power; when the people in charge aren't willing to address the issues" ! Here Neve is saying, when that happens, that's where people like us can and should step in. :)
Rook then goes to a new area called "Mountainside Eluvians". the name of the area implies to me that there are other batches of eluvians grouped together in different locations elsewhere in the Crossroads which would have different names, not simply these 4.
The map here tells us that in the Mountainside alone, there are four different eluvians. The one lit up with the blue quest marker goes to Hossberg Wetlands. Dev commentary here says,
“You’ll see as we move towards these eluvians the architecture very clearly reflects what’s on the other side.”
The one on the right is flanked by griffon statues. The eluvian is shattered! This video was set after the storybeat of the siege of Weisshaupt. Maybe this was the eluvian that went to Weisshaupt fortress? now that Weisshaupt has fallen, we cannot go back there, and the fate of the place is reflected in the broken mirror. :( in fact, this eluvian no longer even has a quest marker for it. it's unusable. (see yellow dot annotated on minimap where I think its marker used to be).
This one next to it is also flanked with griffons and has these giant rings on sticks. maybe this one leads to this location from the release date reveal trailer (which seems Anderfelsy to me)?
For the eluvian to the left of the Hossberg Wetlands one, like I said here, based on the dwarf statue and the way Kal-Sharok was highlighted on that new map, I wonder if that one goes to Kal-Sharok. (pls pls :D) Lastly, for the one to the left of that, it's hard to tell as the camera doesn't really pan round to it.
General thoughts/speculation on commentary & such:
The Crossroads is such a fun method of 'explaining' fast-traveling.
To think that we would get to explore Solas’ former base of operations and training grounds during the ancient days of the rebellion, view fragments of the past to get insight into his character, ancient Elvhenan and the gods and their motivations.. to actually get to re-live his memories, to take part in the ancient rebellion.. [Flemeth voice] and she came to me. A wisp of an ancient being. And she granted all I ever wanted and more.
It's like a dream come true!! It's peoples' decade-old headcanons, it's our fanfic dreams. I can't wait to see Elvhenan as it was. I hope we get insight into and see Elgar and Ghil before they became Blighted. I hope we get to see some of the other Evanuris too, and Mythal in her fullness before she was murdered. Mythal and Solas interacting. Young Solas, when he was prideful, hot-headed and foolish. his friend Felassan, who is also an ancient elf (it's the perfect opportunity, it makes so much sense). the moment when Solas created the Veil. the betrayal he suffered that he alludes to. Solas removing vallaslin of people who came to his side to join him. Solas with hair, like Matt Rhodes implied during the first dev Q&A? Solas creating a safe haven for freed elves and spirits. maybe even the Forgotten Ones?? and find out how they fit into it all? maybe they were Solas' "party members" in the time of his rebellion? things that we have only seen in mosaics and murals or read about in notes or heard about indirectly in oblique dialogue lines.. ON OUR SCREENS IN A GAME, TO PLAY. OUUGUGHHH. thank you devs
I'm also really curious about the Caretaker. "mysterious" implies that we can learn more about what/who they are. them being there before Solas was tells you how extremely ancient they are. rebuilding the area into a safe haven for spirits sounds so cool too. :)
The Risen Gods having an army of augmented darkspawn.. we in danger. :)
I wanna find every single deep Crossroads secret. :D
On Ghilan'nain's experiments, use of the Blight, etc: some old posts. it's so metal to see Horror of Hormak paying off ingame. :D

Anyway time to talk about the 6x03 poem:
As many others have speculated judging by the map, Captain Skall made her way to Hook named after her, and then "as east she sailed into waters so deadly and cold" in the Frozen Shards, her ship eventually being stuck and meeting her doom there.
With that out of the way, I want to talk about other pieces of info, why this might be the poem for 6x03 specifically, and where I think Skall may fit timeline wise:
"From the isles without name" makes me think of the Independent Isles in between Evenere and Katolis.
"sailing north, she called herself free" makes me feel feral with Callum (and Rayla) doing the same in hopes of freeing Callum from Aaravos' grasp by destroying the prison
"Through forests and flowers, past the uneven towers" clearly symbolizes Katolis, indicating that Skall lived once most of the human kingdoms had been established, and thereby post-Exile/Exodus.
"Skall hungered for glory, she wanted a story / they’d tell it long after she died". Routinely we see a desire for glory / worthiness / power described as hunger ("Hungry for knowledge and power" / "But that small taste left some humans hungry—starved, even—for a better path. An easier path. And thus Elarion became the birthplace of a new form of magic, a shortcut to primal power: dark magic"). This also comes into seeking a legacy.
"So with winter wind’s blowing / she sailed north, forgoing / a man who’d have made her his bride". This is where we see the poem take a more negative slant in a few ways. The first is winter, wind, and north, setting up a future unfortunate turn of events. This is also the first mention of Skall having something else in her life other than adventure and something she had to subsequently abandon. While the end of the poem is much more on her side of feelings, "forgoing" does mean "renouncing; sacrificing or giving up" something that is more positive.
"Alone in the cold, yet ever so bold" again adds to the more negative feeling the poem is building, as boldness is in the contrast with "alone in the cold" that's overall negative and maintaining a bit more of an upkeep. Likewise, we see the return of the wind with an even more negative connotation in wailing in the following stanza: "And oh, winter wailed / as east she sailed / into waters so deadly and cold". We see the return of cold but also the change into things being 'deadly' (although there were still hints of danger earlier, as 'bold' indicates).
"Then came the ice, and trapped in its vise" The cold finally catches up to her, and we see ice return as a form of entrapment (2x06, 3x08, 3x09, 5x04, 5x06, 5x08). Most interestingly, "vise" is a tool with closable jaws for clamping things. Maybe the ice is magical, or the jaw of a great (the dragon we've seen in the trailer) creature?
"And while she found peace / she wished that, at least / she’d told him she loved him, always". While the poem ends on a somewhat bittersweet end (at death but at peace), we do see that Skall died with a final regret to the man she could've wed but left instead.
Or you could say, a last wish.
Either way, the poem paints a rather grim journey: going North didn't hold the same freedom and achievements that Skall hoped for, and instead led to entrapment, separation, and death.
That said: there's a few Rayllum-y things I think we can glean from this poem, for starters:
1) The episode will likely have a strong focus on Callum and Rayla sailing to and/or through the Frozen Sea on whatever ship they're planning to use to get there. This leaves 6x02 "Love, War, and Mushrooms" more open to either explore other plot lines or another pit stop in their journey (like say, the Silvergrove)
2) The poem itself has pretty clear Rayllum parallels, specifically in TDP's continual gender subversion of the women who puts other things above her romantic relationship, even if it's likewise seen as a sacrifice. Rayla left Callum in order to protect him/the world from Viren, even if that meant damaging their relationship, and Skall puts her desire for glory and adventure over presumably a more settled married life at home. (Excuse me while I scream over "forgoing a man who'd have made her his bride.")
3) The poem likewise has some parallels to Rayla's "Dear Callum" letter specifically. There are wishes expressed of the leaving party, a desire to have made feelings more plain that Callum reiterates in 5x04 when they think they're about to die ("I hope you know—" "I know"), and most notably, a parallel to the always mention:
she wished that, at least she’d told him she loved him, always.
But, if it does—if you feel that soft aching—know that that piece of your heart isn’t missing. It’s not missing at all, Callum: I’m carrying it with me! Always. I love you. I love you so much.
4) All this bodes quite well for 6x03 being an episode with a big Rayllum moment in it — perhaps even their Big "You Finally Came Back" Talk — especially since there's not much else to (presumably) happen on a ship if they're just travelling somewhere (and not being pursued this time).
Episode Speculation (a summary / misc thoughts)
Callum and Rayla travelling to the Frozen Sea
Big Talk happens
+ potential love confession / reaffirmation?
They reach the other end of the Frozen Sea
Maybe fight the big dragon from the video game teaser we see with Rayla (like Skall, she has literal hooks = blades) whose guarding or in their way to the Starscraper? Could account for the jaws and maybe the ice
One of them is worried and/or has a moment of thinking the other person is hurt/injured bc of said dragon fight?
Maybe some Aaravos backstory in his lost love (although like I said, I don't think it's Skall exactly — I still think the likeliest names are Elara-adjacent or Kalik)
Episode Title Speculation (in about this order):
The Frozen Sea
By River and Sea
Always (this would be my personal favourite and i would never stop screaming)

Part 1: Loss
listen. i know it's been two months since i've gotten this request. but i liked it so much that i'm splitting it into 3 parts 2 parts so i hope it's worth it. i crossed out the last part because spoilers :3
word count: 1.6k notes/warnings: angst, canon!verse, s4 spoilers, alcohol, levi lamenting his life, i need emotional support, jakdfjk
Wine? Why would we need to bring wine on a mission?
That thought continuously ran through Levi's mind as he stared at the now empty wine crate with a frown. He thought it was silly and even harmful. It'd make their mission less effective if his soldiers' movements and judgements were slow from the alcohol—but they had a point. They were going to be camping in the Forest of Giant Trees, watching over Zeke for who knows how long.
"Levi?"
He vaguely heard someone call out as he continued to glare at the wine crate.
"Levi!"
Levi was finally ripped out of his stupor as he blinked a few times before looking up at you, frowning at the sight in front of him.
You were sitting across the campfire from him with a wine bottle in your head. He raised his eyebrow at you.
"I snagged it from some of the underlings since they were getting a bit too rowdy," you said with a shrug, motioning towards a group of your subordinates that were chatting loudly enough for the entire forest to hear. Some of them were even passed out on the ground.
You raised the wine bottle towards Levi.
"Want some?"
He blinked at you again with a deadpan expression that was oddly judgmental at the same time.
"...Knock yourself out," he grumbled before sipping on his cup of tea. "I'm not touching that shit."
You scoffed at him.
"Whatever you say, grumpy," you muttered in an annoyed tone as you brought the wine bottle up to your lips.
~~~~~
Everything froze once Zeke started screaming. Zeke beginning to run off on his own without any backup was already suspicious enough. He might have been shady, but he wasn't dumb. He wouldn't dare run off from 30-something soldiers that were stationed specifically to guard him.
"What?" Levi muttered to himself.
His eyes slowly widened as he began to put the pieces together.
Immediately after, the forest around him lit up as his subordinates began to turn into Titans one by one.
That itself was already devastating enough, but there was one other factor that made his heart drop down into his stomach and filled him with nausea and panic.
He felt like he was perceiving the world around him in slow motion as he turned his gaze to the side.
You had gone to gather some of the Thunder Spears to chase after Zeke.
You had also consumed the wine.
He saw that you had dropped to your knees and that you were shaking.
No...
Before he could run to you, just to reassure himself that the wine would have not affected you for some wild, magical reason, the forest lit up again and you had reappeared as one of those disturbing, deformed Pure Titans.
He froze as the scene unfolded before him. It was as if his brain wasn't allowing him to process what was happening. It was like the world was falling apart around him. His senses seemed muffled and his thoughts were frozen. His blood ran cold and he forgot how to breathe.
His instincts kicked in as soon as you rushed over to grab him. He reeled himself up into the trees, barely escaping your grasp. It took him a second to reorient back to reality, but by that point, he was already zipping through the trees at faster rates than the regular human eye would be able to comprehend.
Was Zeke's spinal fluid in the wine?!
Levi cursed to himself as he continued to use his mobility gear to fly through the trees as his entire team chased him throughout the forest. The 30-something Pure Titans that went after him were much faster than normal Titans. They were nearly all Aberrants and he knew that any normal Scout would have been long dead if they were in his situation.
Fuck!
He cursed at the world and especially at Zeke Jaeger. He had lost his entire team within the span of seconds. He had lost you in the blink of an eye.
He had been losing and losing and losing non-stop and there wasn't much left within him to be able to bear it. The thought of having to kill his subordinates as Titans made him want to collapse. The thought of having to kill you made him want to hurl, toss his blades onto the ground, and scream.
Being stuck in his thoughts slowed his movements by just a second, and he saw the shadow of a Titan's hand behind him that was ready to grab him.
Out of instinct, he pulled out his blades and spun to slice apart the hand that was approaching him. He felt his blood run cold for the millionth time once he saw who that Titan was.
It was you.
His grip on his swords tightened and he was shaking. He couldn't tell if it was from rage, grief, or both. He shut his eyes as he forced himself to accept the reality in front of him.
He had to cut everyone down. He didn't have a choice. It was either die or run, and leave his entire team, including you, to suffer for the rest of your lives wandering in the forest as mindless Titans.
An unreadable and dark expression appeared in his eyes as he began to systematically cut down all of the Titans around him. It didn't take him long, but he felt the darkness within him build with every single one that he was forced to kill.
He paused again as he saw that you were the final one standing. He flew towards you and prepared to slash the blades against your nape.
~~~~~
1 month earlier
"Do you think it'll be over once we defeat Marley?" you asked, leaning forward against the railing of the airship.
You had just defeated Marley at Liberio after the raid to rescue Eren and capture Zeke. Since there was still some time before arriving back at the island, both you and Levi found yourselves outside on the bridge to escape from the chaos inside the airship.
"...doubt it," Levi muttered.
You immediately lightly smacked his arm, scowling at him.
"What?" Levi asked as he returned your scowl.
You sighed at your boyfriend's persistent pessimism.
"We'll make it happen," you said stubbornly. "Even if war never ends, we'll make our dream of that little cottage in the middle of the forest next to a riverbank a reality."
You turned so that you were facing him and ran your fingers through his hair as you looked into his eyes.
"Maybe it'll even have a field of flowers," you said quietly.
"I don't remember ever agreeing to this," Levi responded. His sentiment was cold, but he muttered it gently, as if some small part of him was considering the idea.
"You said you wanted a life away from everything."
He scoffed. "Never got that specific."
You tilted your head and smiled at him with a hint of amusement. "Got any better ideas, Ackerman?"
Levi continued to look into your eyes without responding.
"I didn't think so," you muttered and a smirk appeared on your face as you saw Levi roll his eyes.
Before you could continue to retort, Levi had wrapped one arm around your waist and pulled you close, gently pressing his lips against yours. You leaned into him, feeling the gentle breeze blowing through your hair, with a combination of both him and the scent of the seawater below you permeating your nose. It was a moment you wanted to be imprinted into your mind forever.
"Fuck the cottage," he mumbled when he finally pulled away. "Having your annoying ass is enough already as it is."
You felt your face subtly heat up as he spoke.
"But the cottage would be a nice addition, right?" you teased, trying your best to maintain your composure around him.
Levi didn't respond, but pulled you into another soft kiss.
Sure, the cottage would have been nice—but there was only one thing that Levi felt he needed, and it was right in front of him. He subtly smiled as he continued to press his lips against yours.
You were all he needed. As long as he had you, he could be content.
~~~~~
Levi had missed.
He couldn't get himself to slice his blades through the nape of your Titan's neck. He couldn't do it. No matter how many times he renewed his resolve, he couldn't get himself to kill you. His memory of your conversation on the airship played on repeat in his head. He couldn't throw all that away.
Still, he didn't know what to do.
He couldn't bear to live in a world without you, especially since you would have died in such an unfair way. He couldn't imagine living a peaceful life without you. He didn't know if he could move on.
He knew it was selfish. He shouldn't be prioritizing your life over anyone else's. It would compromise his duty as a soldier and Captain of the Scouts, but it was undeniably true. No matter what he did, no matter what he told himself, he could not kill you.
Levi felt absolutely defeated as he watched your Titan run at him.
He didn't know what to do—but he was desperate to do anything to save you, and to make it so that you could continue to live on.
Elsa + Queen Disa VS Elsa + Honeymaren
A conversation about this before it turns into a discussion beyond what I'm seeing in my social circle.
The look of Queen Disa from the "Frozen Podcast" was recently revealed, and due to her interaction with Elsa in it, a new shipp is being born in the Frozen fandom: Elsa + Queen Disa.
I haven't watched the entire podcast yet, but I've seen some analyzes and in fact Elsa and Disa have a lot of interesting scenes: they start off having problems with each other because of their thoughts about magic and technology, they eventually end up helping each other (especially Disa helps Elsa), and in the end they really become friends, promising a new moment for them to meet. It's almost like "enemies to lovers".
And because Elsa + Honeymaren is the current shipp, it is obviously leading to a certain principle of rivalry. And a lot of people jumped on the theory that Elsa is a lesbian because of Elsa + Honeymaren, and now we have a new girl to steal some of the spotlight.
I went through this myself in "Frozen 2" with the appearance of Elsa + Honeymaren to the detriment of Elsa + Marisol. As I said before, I had certain problems with "Frozen 2" at the beginning: I hated the separation of the sisters and that Marisol was technically replaced by Honeymaren. It took me a while to understand "Frozen 2" and accept ElsaMaren, and especially to understand that Honeymaren is the mainstream version of Marisol, the version that Disney could take to the cinema.
And so today we have an absence of the Northuldra tribe in material that precisely addresses the Enchanted Forest, and in Honeymaren's place we have Queen Disa who is appearing on the "Frozen Podcast" alongside her sisters.
A few days ago I made a post talking about the possibility that in “Frozen 3” instead of having an approximation of Elsa with Honeymaren, there would be an approximation of Elsa with an original woman, a more mainstream character and free for Disney to use in merchandising. And therefore be different from a woman linked to a tribe that exists in real life and that perhaps has some control over her image, as is perhaps the case with Honeymaren. And now we have Queen Disa.
I really don't believe that Queen Disa is in "Frozen 3", although a podcast released close to the franchise's anniversary is more mainstream than a book or a comic, I still don't think it's relevant enough to be the gateway to a character that it will be in a film... but I could be wrong, I never rule anything out.
But unlike my initial problem with Honeymaren, I don't intend to create any resistance to the possibility of a new woman for Elsa. As long as it's a woman I have no problem.
And one last text about Elsa + Queen Disa vs Elsa + Honeymaren. Queen Disa and Honeymaren are almost opposites:
Disa seems to be much more extroverted while Honeymaren has already demonstrated that she has some problems speaking in public (Disney Magic Kingdoms).
Disa is a book girl, Honeymaren is a warrior.
Disa is knowledgeable in technology while Honeymaren has some knowledge in magic.
Disa is the girl of the city and modernity while Honeymaren is the girl of the forest and traditions.
Whether it was a coincidence or not, I found this interesting, and it's really easy to see Elsa pairing up with the two women: friendship beginning until an eventual romance.
Frozen Northundra fashion? How should Honeymaren dress when she visits Arendelle?
Please add comments or reblog your thoughts/links.
@ericmicael, i love your comments about how Honeymaren should dress if/when she goes down to Arendelle (and love the @ariettart scene). I’m drafting a scene where she planning on going, and Elsa-magics her a dress…what do you think her final custom dress could be? Elvan earth/forest x warrior princess? We got to find something that fits her with no leather. (At least not for dinner in the castle 🫢)
I’m imagining Elsa flipping through dresses like Maui shape shifting through animals with funny ones in between…
Maybe one too princess-y and another one…well too casual/suggestive (though how Elsa may be secretly imagining her)
And then finally something that suits Honeymaren?
To fellow frozen fandom….any good links or examples? Please add in comments or reblogs 😀
@annas-hair-donut , @true--north @fuzziekins @dronning-formynder05 @citizen-a @rain1940 @ashleytheartist any outfit suggestions?
Fanfic Master Post
My fics are now locked to A03 members only
Please send me an ask if you would like to continue reading and you don't have an account.
About the Author Q&A post
Oathbreaker
angst. self discovery. trauma healing.
November 1, 2024 - I am on a one month hiatus from updating this fic to celebrate the 1 year aniversary of beginning to write it. I will update Chapter 67 on December 1, 2024
Act 1 - Chapters 1-12 - Complete
Morwen vowed she'd never lead anyone again after the disastrous mission that led to breaking her oath. But the gods laugh while you make plans, and her abduction by mind flayers and a concerning brush with the devil is forcing her to face her fears. In her search for a cure, she gathers a disparate group of other infected and reluctantly leads them on a journey towards their unknown fates.
Act 2 - Chapters 13-51 - Complete
As the group enter the Shadow Cursed Lands, Raphael returns and forces Morwen to make a choice. In seeming retaliation for her refusal, he breaks the mental blocks keeping the memories of her past from her, forcing her to confront the darkness she thought had been locked away forever.
Act 3 - Chapters 52-? - in progress
With her memories fully restored, Morwen prepares to enter Baldur's Gate, not only to disrupt and dismantle the evil plot of the Dead Three, but also to force a reckoning with her own past. If the darkness doesn't consume her first.
This is an ongoing fic about betrayal, redemption, religious trauma, abuse, and why good people do bad things. She also has romances along the way because despite everything she has never lost her capacity to love.
This fic contains smut, drama, violence (there is also dead dove content especially in the middle-late act 2 and beyond) and is probably the work I'm the most proud of.
I try to update every Monday, but sometimes life gets in the way.
Laileth of Waterdeep
fluff. romance. two worlds one heart.
This is Laileth. She is a forest elf who hails from Suldanessellar inside the forest of Wealdalth/Tethir, as far south of Baldur's Gate as Waterdeep is north. I've unconsciously been treating her like a Tolkien Silvan elf, so finally decided (though not stated in the fics themselves) that by some magic a group of elves from Mirkwood found themselves transplanted into Faerûn and therefore they were extremely reclusive and rarely dealt with outsiders except to trade. This is her first time meeting people of other races except at the bargaining table and she's fallen in love with Faerûn and it's people. She's also quite young, comparatively, and full of wonder and love of life and eagerness to learn and explore.
One person in particular though, Gale of Waterdeep. I've created a Series on Ao3 to keep all of her various drabbles together. They're all one-shots and her story will (mostly) be at the mercy of the prompts from the BG3 Writers Discord server. Many contain smut, and Laileth and Gale are into dom/sub play.
Terminally-ill Genius Dark Knight - 162
162: Joint Martial Arts Practice [4]
[How naive! Do you really think I'd just obediently tell you where I sent Nox von Reinhaver?]
Aleph shouted, realizing that his identity had already been exposed.
His arms were severed, and he was restrained. He had just come to terms with the fact that no matter what he did, survival was out of the question. But Noah and Astrid didn’t seem to care at all. How many people had they encountered in past wars who refused to reveal the location of their allies, resisting to the bitter end?
But it didn’t matter to them. Astrid casually squatted down as if she is familiar with this.
"I’m not really asking about that sort of thing, though."
"Astrid! It looks like this coordinate is… up north?"
"Knew it. The north, huh? They think sending people to the wasteland will kill them all, so they come up with these lame methods. You get it, right?"
Listening to their conversation, Aleph couldn’t help but be frightened.
No matter how skilled they were, is it possible to guess the location just by looking at a magic formation? Coordinate magic is notoriously difficult to fine-tune. Surely, was what happening now reasonable?
'Absurd…!'
No matter how much he thought about it, it didn’t make sense. He was exceptional. Aleph had never doubted that even once. But, he's ended up witnessing it. Overwhelming, absolutely "heaven beyond heaven." And on top of that, two people at once.
"So, where exactly in the north did you send?"
Noah asked, her head inclined. but Aleph just scoffed, having no intention to answer.
[Like I said earlier, I have no plans to answer.]
"You're being annoying, huh?"
"Astrid? Please~"
"Haa…"
What? Aleph rolled his eyes, troubled. What were these two talking about? No matter how much they pressured him, it wouldn’t matter as long as he kept his mouth shut. Their behavior was downright strange.
But… His doubts were soon answered.
Astrid approached, her eyes glowing with mana, scanning Aleph’s mind as she questioned him.
"Is it near Winter Bridge?"
[N, no way…!]
"Yup, it’s around there."
"Be more specific. isn't it a dangerous place if they’re going to hold out for ten days?"
"Haa… then [the Valley of Cold and Blood]?"
[What nonsense are you spouting!?]
"Not there, huh?"
Astrid completely ignored Aleph’s words and continued.
"Then, is it the [Frozen Frostwood Forest]?"
[Hrk!]
"Got it. That’s the place. Let’s go."
Aleph couldn't help but be terrified. Did that girl have the ability to read people's minds?
He couldn’t even figure out what kind of power she possessed, which made him keep puzzled. Of course, if Nox had been around at this moment, that ability to detect lies really is useful. He must be thinking of that.
"Oh, wait, before we go…"
Noah, who had turned her back, turned back to Aleph with a smirk.
"We should clean this up, shouldn’t we?"
Krrrrk!
In an instant, a massive block of ice shot up like a towering cliff and trapped Aleph. It was Noah’s famous [Absolute Zero]. Since she had to go rescue her disciple, she figured she'd bind him here and interrogate him later about the movements of the demons.
Noah, with an innocent expression, held a crystal orb and contacted someone.
— This is Professor Lars von Celestia.
"Professor Lars, I’ve captured a demonic human. Would it be possible to keep him in a cell until I return?"
— …
Lars momentarily fell into shock as if his brain had stopped. but then cautiously asked.
— …Where exactly are you right now? What’s going on…?
"I’m in Lecture Room 2. We caught a demonic human disguised as one of the professors. Since the students are in danger, we’re going to go save them. Naturally, you’ll help, right?"
— … I will help write the report once you retu..
Beep—beep—
"Alright, let's go!"
"You really annoying other people."
"So, you're not coming? Even though he's your disciple?"
"Who said I wasn’t going…"
Astrid rolled her shoulders and unleashed her magic. Next, as two wings sprouted from her back, she transformed into a dragon. True to her title as the Flame Mage, a fiery red body, and sharp, shimmering scales. Then, enormous vertical pupils appeared.
Noah shouted as if she was excited.
"It’s been a while since I’ve ridden on your back? right?"
[Noisy…]
Though Astrid spoke indifferently, Noah knew. If she really wasn’t worried about Nox, she wouldn’t have gone so far as to polymorph and fly all the way to the north.
'As expected, this is fun'
Even though Noah thought like that, inwardly, she couldn't help but worried.
'Rather, it will still fortunate if just trolls or ents…. If he met 'that guy', even Nox wouldn't be able to make it out alive'
She realized they needed to hurry. As Noah thought that, she quickly climbed onto Astrid’s back. From this moment on, it was a race against time.
--------------------------------------
I had just taken down around 50 ents.
If I spoke about the result, I succeeded, which was fortunate. It mean there would be a brief moment to rest.
"Haah…"
But the situation wasn’t exactly great. The worst-case scenario had happened, and the items I’d hidden in my uniform were near their limit. The potions and healing supplies were particularly problematic.
However, the bigger issue was something else entirely.
[Player has exhausted both lower and middle dantian mana.]
[Natural recovery will take approximately three days.]
[‘Magic Restriction’ penalty is now in effect.]
A situation with no potions left and now the "Magic Restriction" penalty activated
'To think it was [Magic Restriction] of all things… Like this, I won’t be able to use magic properly for a while. Protecting this girl and fighting at the same time is impossible'
But, I realized the situation always turns worse. It’s because I noticed in the next moment that the extreme moment has just come.
"Cough…!"
Even the sound of my own shriek didn’t fully reach my ears, drowned out by system messages filling my vision and hearing.
— Due to the effect of [Prone to Minor Illness], [Cold Lv5] has been applied to the player.
— Due to the effect of [Prone Minor Illness], the player's negative trait [Cold Limbs] has temporarily worsened.
— Due to the effect of [Prone Minor Illness], [Action Restriction Lv3] has been applied to the player.
Two penalties. The worst ones—[Prone to Minor Illness] and [Cold Limbs] activated at the worst possible moment. In addition [Cold Limbs] was even upgraded. Damn it. My luck is terrible, but this is beyond unlucky. Just right after I got some stats, a bullshit came in this way. What did I do to deserve this?
'Damn it. I need to stay sharp.'
"Are… are you alright?"
Eleanor asked, pretending it was no big deal. But I was already at a situation where I couldn’t even respond to her. I tried to steady my swaying body, but my body had already reached its limit.
I had never complained a pain to this extent before, and when I had been hurt, other units had always been on my side. So, predicting and dealing with this kind of situation was in fact, impossible for me.
Anyway, in the end…
Thud.
“No, Nox!? What’s happening all of a sudden?!”
Caught in the illusion, as if the world tilted, and the ground is shaking, I collapsed to the ground. This is dangerous. To think I end up in such a miserable state after cutting down 50 ents…
But there’s no time to slow down. I need to think. This trouble will definitely over soon too. I have to think now. I can feel myself losing consciousness.
Even though Eleanor was speechless due to shock. She'll probably okay
“Wh, What happened?! Why did you collapse all of a sudden?!”
Her face, sincerely looking at me with worried expression. Fortunately, that wasn't an act.
Suddenly in this moment, I feel it. Eleanor de Rivalin, a truly beautiful character. Known as the [Golden Fox], she was perceived as cold and distant by people, but the reality was far from that. She was always warm. And that’s why I repeatedly recruited her to my team. In every new game, she showed me a different side of her, like a chameleon. Though she's a character with a cold exterior, she hide a warmth more than anyone inside. Someone may think it was just a game, and I was too invested. But for me, who had always been alone, she's truly like a friend. So, this time, I decided to be honest with her.
"Eleanor."
"Nox! Snap out of it! Your pupils… Why are your eyes like this!?"
"Leave me here and head deeper into the cave. Once you’re there, use this."
The item I pulled from my inventory and handed to Eleanor was [Veil of Mistery], an artifact that hide its user presence. As long as you’re wearing this, the enemy won’t attack unless you strike first. The problem is, it's single-use, and for a one-time item, it's ridiculously expensive. I recently won it in a black market auction through Grain, but I never expected to use it like this.
Well, for a merchant Eleanor caliber, she would instantly recognize this arfifact, so I didn’t need to explain it. That was a plus.
But there was one more problem with this item. And that exactly…
'The main protagonist cannot use it'
The [Veil of Mystery] was an item designed to save heroines or surrounding characters. That was the identity of [Veil of Mystery]. A leftover from the affinity and favorability system.
But right now, it would give her the biggest support more than anything.
"Where did you get this…! No, rather than that, are you serious?! If you had something like this, naturally you should’ve used it yourself and left me….!"
"You really think I’d naturally abandon you?"
"…What?"
Eleanor asked back.
But there wasn’t time to explain. Even now, my consciousness keep fading.
I wasn’t handing her the item because I wanted to die. This is in order to realize the only option left.
The odds of success were close to a gamble, but I’d learned something from Astrid. I just think things will turn out somehow Either way, luck is an essential element for survival.
In this harsh world of Inner Lunatic, for the sake of my existence, no, to stand strong as Nox von Reinhaver, I need overwhelming power. And to obtain that power, absolute luck is necessary.
I know my limits.
Even with two [Genius] traits, I never thought to get conceited.
Those traits belong to the character I created. Nox von Reinhaver, I’m just the one controlling him. I’m Yoochan.
And even if in the past, every day I wasted my time like trash as Yoochan, I never thought to repeat it this time.
"Go."
"…"
That was my final word. My consciousness completely shut down. Before I could hear Eleanor’s response.
Behind the scenes of „The Broken Bridge“
Warning: this is going to be a very long text, starting with a little personal analysis of Frozen II, but I want you to understand what ultimately motivated me to write "The Broken Bridge" and what was actually behind it.
If the following is too long for you, you can skip straight to the end, to a special invitation for my most loyal readers. But if you want to read on ... who knows, maybe I can give you some motivation to write your own fanfic, or I can give you some inspiration to keep writing and never give up. Let's start now ...
When I published my very first idea about a sequel to Frozen II on my main blog as a ficlet or prologue on May 24th 2020, I had no intention of writing this fanfic myself at first. Instead, I asked the fandom who of the experienced writers would like to do it and later wrote additional thoughts about it. Below is a list of links to my main blog and the beginnings:
Link 1 , Link 2 , Link 3 , Link 4 , Link 5 , Link 6 , Link 7 Link 8 , Link 9 , Link 10
At that time I didn't have a title for it either and simply called it "Frozen III plot / fanfic" or "frozen au". But none of the fanfic writers jumped at it, despite 67 likes including many comments. A few days later I had a discussion with one of my favourite writers on Tumblr, telling him that I was hesitant to continue writing because I just thought I was a bad writer at the time and also because of doubts about my English skills. I received lots of tips and words of encouragement from him and the writing duo.
Nevertheless, I was on the verge of giving up after publishing only 2 chapters. It wasn't until June 2nd that I put my third chapter online, but still as an F3 plot idea and without a title. However, once I found my beta reader (he had contacted me anonymously on Tumblr), I continued until chapter 11 for the time being, until the end of July 2020, when I stopped publishing on my main blog due to a lack of comments and likes. At that point, I was disappointed with the response and was about to give up.
It's no easy feat to convincingly and believably expand the world of Disney's Frozen II in such a way that you're drawn in from the very beginning — just like in the film — and can literally immerse yourself in an epic storyline that keeps you gripped until the very end. But not to the point where you drown in it (pun intended), of course, but that takes a lot of work and ingenuity.Frozen II had many wonderful highlights, but also its flaws, which ultimately divided the fan community — literally! However, one thing fascinated me from the start and that was the introduction of a completely new world in the Frozen universe, which is the main part of my plot in the novel. It's about the Northuldra (inspired by the real Sámi people) who live in an enchanted forest, along with the four nature spirits who are part of a greater whole: the deity Ahtohallan, guardian of all memories and source of Elsa's ice magic.
But this is precisely where the film's weaknesses lie, because unfortunately these remarkable people were given far too little time on the big screen, when they deserved so much more and an incredibly multi-layered potential would have opened up for Disney. As everyone knows, the team had negotiated with the Sámi Parliament in advance and received authorisation — on the condition that the Sámi were portrayed respectfully.
Apparently, however, much of this was too complicated for Disney to realise, especially when it came to customs, beliefs and myths. Ahtohallan in the film, for example, was something that was originally planned quite differently and — as far as I could tell from the concept art book "The Art of Frozen II" and the D+ documentary — was originally linked to Sámi shamanism, specifically their Noaidi.
The deleted scene of the originally planned prologue, for example, showed us a shapeshifter with reindeer antlers. This was presumably an old Sámi myth and the saga of a figure called Myandash. You can read this story online.
(Note: In my novel, Myandash was the model for Kolgrimr's father and I called the human Northuldra wife of the shapeshifter Gyda and made her the evil Noaidi).
What remained
The fact is that the Northuldra and their great role model, the Sámi, were very well received in the Frozen fandom, as can be seen from the countless fanart images, fanfictions, discussions and even the Elsamaren Ship (Elsa + Honeymaren). And not only there, the Sámi themselves also took a liking to Frozen II.
All of this and the actual, ultimately somewhat disappointing realisation in the film was hardly surprising to me, as this is, after all, a Disney film with a target audience that ranges from young children to the age of puberty, but at most to teenagers under the age of 18. What can you expect in terms of an in-depth plot?
This applies not only to the style, with sidekicks such as Olaf, Sven, Bruni and Gale, but above all to the plot and duration of the feature film. Many in fandom later said that Frozen II was told far too hastily and left far too many questions unanswered, especially about the main aspect, Elsa's powers. However, the entire Frozen franchise is all about Elsa's magic — right from the start. At its core, this is what has always fascinated fans about it and, of course, the characters of the royal sisters themselves.
It's a great pity that Disney didn't appreciate the older cinema audience — especially the Frozen fans among them — when producing the second part, but instead behaved as if it were a completely new audience of children. In the meantime, ten years have passed since the first instalment, six of them after the first, so there were already many loyal fans in their twenties who expected more and hoped for answers — something that Disney has unfortunately failed to give us to this day. Admittedly, a completely different approach was originally planned — as you can see from the deleted scenes and from the documentary on Disney Plus — far darker, more serious and actually aimed at older fans, just as Jennifer Lee had once promised to us. But in the end, everything was decided at Disney from the highest level, over the heads of the filmmakers, and thrown overboard. The logic, seriousness and complexity of the plot fell by the wayside in favour of a very young audience, who — as you could hear in the documentary on D+ — were not old enough to understand the movie. No wonder, when you show the test screening to five to twelve-year-old children and expect them to leave the theatre enthusiastic and completely satisfied without any further questions. The original plan was probably just too demanding.
How often has it happened that even adults didn't immediately understand a film and instead pondered it for weeks afterwards? That's what makes a good film. But to reset everything to zero immediately after the first screening test, to completely discard the originally planned plot and to put the entire film team in a difficult position to just make the deadline for an extensive and elaborate production within just a few months? For a film that normally takes three years to produce? No! This makes no sense at all and is only due to the greed to earn as much as possible at the cinema box office. Never mind the plot, the main thing is to make it family-friendly! What a pity!
In addition, the vision of the film makers was ignored. Ultimately, it hurt everyone involved, especially Jennifer Lee, who shortly afterwards was no longer a director and is now only available in an advisory capacity for the planned sequels. Honestly, I would have thrown in the towel myself after such treatment, which, at least judging by her presence on Twitter, she actually did. Presumably mainly because of the hate speech from toxic circles of the fan community that she was constantly confronted with there because of the end of Frozen II. None of us fans know the real reasons though — one day her account there was simply deleted.
But enough with my opinion on the film.
My vision
We have now arrived at the reason why I wrote "The Broken Bridge" primarily for older Frozen fans, the novel is even partly aimed at an adult readership from 18 years upwards. There are scenes with explicit language, violence and sex scenes, simply because the plot required a realistic, logical approach. But each chapter is specially labelled, at least in the chapter overview, and the most violent LBGT scene is even linked to a separate 18+ blog. So no one gets to read that unless the reader specifically follows the link.
Of course you can't please everyone, as one reader in particular showed me with his behaviour, who had commented on every chapter so far, but suddenly stopped from the part with "18+ content" onwards, presumably for reasons of age. I'm really sorry about that! On the other hand, I received statements on various platforms from readers who made it clear to me that I had not only hit the mark, but that their tastes had been fully satisfied and that they were simply delighted (for data protection reasons, I won't mention any names below).
Reader statements
On Discord: "Oh...that Frozen 3, the broken bridge novel right? I've read it all and it was EPIC. Well done." On Twitter/X: "I've been following your Frozen 3 Fanfiction since the beginning, and I love that the story is really believable and totally follows the universe of the two films, and that it could very well work as a 3rd film...I can't wait to read the next part !!" (Note: this was at the end of the third part of the story, after my hiatus in the fandom) On reddit, as a recommendation to other fans: "Greetings, I started reading an amazing story about Queen Anna and her sister Elsa some months ago. It's a long but terrific story. Tbh, This level of work and details in the narration is worth to be considered a sequel to Frozen2." On Tumblr to chapter 81: "This is a beautiful, genuinely remarkable closing for such a novel. ..... I truly enjoyed reading about Anna's wedding. It was like watching a short that Disney Animation should have given it to the fans years ago!" On Tumblr to chapter 66: "Goodness...what a chapter! In my mind I was thrown back and forth between Star Wars vs Robin Hood style fights! Yeahhh Elsa off to the monoliths? Get her power back! Go girl!Brave Anna! And what a loss for the Arendelle side. War is always such an unnecessary way.... but then... they fought for justice! Well done!" On Tumblr to chapter 43: "I love how you connect your stories with few official books, love to see 'A Perfect Night' from Elsa's pov, it looks like an official frozen book"
...and many more great comments from you readers, which have really motivated me immensely and encouraged me to keep writing. Some days I just couldn't stop!
Admittedly, I love the concept of cliffhangers, something that many other fanfic writers avoid in order not to keep their readers in suspense. So: sorry, my dear readers, you couldn't wait for the story to continue next week. But it turned out that I was able to maintain and even increase the suspense from chapter to chapter in this way.
Speaking of plot ... in my novel there are up to ten different storylines that intertwine, making the story very complex and exciting, and there is something for every reader that he/she particularly likes or has looked for in vain elsewhere in the Frozen universe. But ultimately, there's no accounting for taste.
Some people seem to have only picked out specific chapters. Unfortunately, this means that the coherent overall picture of the story falls by the wayside and my vision of a sequel to Frozen II escapes them completely in this way. But it's hard to tell who of the many followers on my fanfic blog has even read all the chapters if I don't get any likes or comments on them. I can only guess.
However, I have to admit that the novel wasn't completely planned out. They say there are two different types of writers, those who meticulously plan every detail from start to finish (plotters) and those who just start writing and only have a rough idea of the plot (pantsers). I count myself among the latter and write from the gut. However, I imagine every scene as if I were watching it in the cinema — with all kinds of details and make lots of notes on new ideas. So there was some rough planning. Sometimes it was the case that my characters themselves dictated the plot, I just had to follow them.You may remember that I write in my native language, German, and only translate everything later. I use DeepL online for this and my English-speaking beta reader HeinrichVSA corrects it afterwards where necessary. But what you probably don't know is that I wrote every single chapter on my smartphone during long train journeys. Until I was completely satisfied, I read through what I'd written again and again in the days that followed, adding scenes, rephrasing phrases and correcting anything I didn't like.
A large part of the story also required a lot of research on the internet, about everything I don't know much or anything about. I wanted to describe everything as realistically as possible and get the facts right.
This was especially true when it came to the Sámi people in the 19th century: their customs and traditions, their shamanism and beliefs, burial rituals and folk beliefs, clothing, crafts and dwellings, everything about reindeer herding, bear hunting and also about skalastet, or stick fighting. Incidentally, the idea of fighting with the Rope-Dart for Honeymaren comes from Asia, so it was added by me, and works exactly as described. I know everything about traditional archery from my own experience and also a little about bow making and crossbows.
I also had to do a lot of research on sailing ships of the 18th and 19th centuries. It's a tricky subject to portray properly and convey a credible feeling for it. For me, the topics were not only ship types and rigging from this era, but also the hierarchy and crew types. Basically everything about sailing itself on board such large ships, changing of watch, typical speeds and distances that could be travelled per day and which terms and commands were usually given on deck and by whom.
Warfare eventually became a topic for me as well, something not mentioned anywhere in the Frozen universe so far. HeinrichVSA was able to help me enormously with his profound historical knowledge and I had to find out what of my ideas worked and what did not. In these chapters I used methods from different eras and settings, including Asia and Ancient Europe. Even topics such as illnesses and healing methods from this period were important for a coherent description and so much more, right up to Norwegian wedding customs and also about signs of pregnancy in the middle of the 19th century, when there were no tests.
So what started out as a small idea has developed over the years into an enormously complex project with huge challenges, and more and more characters have been added.
My OC’s (my own characters)
Various roles had to be filled in the course of the story and since — apart from in comics — hardly any characters are mentioned who fulfil important tasks in the castle or accompany "the gang" on their adventures, I had to invent them. The more relevant a character became, the more important it was to research a suitable name for them ... and there were more and more. Depending on whether it was for someone in the city or among the Northuldra, I drew inspiration from Norse or Sámi names. Often I even researched the deeper meaning of the name, which matched the character's nature as closely as possible.
Of course, I also used almost all the well-known characters from the Frozen books and comics that were more or less relevant for the interaction with the main characters or who enriched the ambience.
The places in the story
Arendelle or the Northuldra camp were not enough, as I quickly realised the deeper I delved into the story. For some areas there was no description in the Frozen universe and the available official maps didn't give much information either. I therefore analysed the movies again and again and also consulted the many comics to get an idea of where the action takes place and what it looks like, feels like or how difficult the terrain was. I made up the rest with the help of logic and real places. Unfortunately, Disney has never told us which real country Weselton, Corona, Vakretta, Snoob and the many others correspond to. But as soon as I was relatively sure of an approximate position on the world map, I was able to research the real conditions of this country.
Small statistics on “The Broken Bridge”
My image edits: 40 plus 5 poster, 2 letters, 2 newspaper articles, 1 self-made map Fanart: 4 (1 unpublished) Storyline: Prologue, 81 chapters in 5 parts, epilogue and acknowledgements totalling almost 437,000 words (excluding acknowledgements) (about 1000 pages)
Very first novel title: "The Only Star", inspired by a sentence Anna sang during "The Next Right Thing": "The only star that guided me was you." Of course, I had her close connection to Elsa in mind. I later discussed final title ideas for my novel with HeinrichVSA, and in the end we had 43 different titles to choose from, with the subtitle "A post Frozen II Novel". As far as I remember, @annaofthenorthernlights confirmed our previous favourite title 'The Broken Bridge', in reference to the 5th Spirit and the bridge that connected Anna in Arendelle and Elsa in the Enchanted Forest. That was the final start for the publication on my fanfic blog.
Commissioned fanart images by HARU (@xlayers): 19 (12 unpublished), all with the maximum image width of 800 pixels. Title ideas for the chapters: mostly HeinrichVSA came up with them while correcting the texts, but of course a few were also my own ideas. It was always difficult to find a good title because the storylines in the chapters often overlapped.
Characters: 16 original characters 15 characters from Frozen books and comics 38 OC's (own characters) 23 locations
Plot period: for the main part (without flashbacks): over a month, followed at the end by 2x three months in chapter 81 and a few more weeks in the epilogue Embedded YouTube music titles: 287 Reboot of the novel with final title (June 25, 2021) as an epic dark AU novel on the fanfic blog: June 19, 2021. originally planned for 1 year with 52+ chapters.
In the last two months since the Acknowledgements were published, I have been working on the preparations for AO3. I had to rewrite the first chapter (prologue) a bit to make it fit the following plot, corrected and formatted everything in detail again, made changes here and there in the chapters and wrote down the links for the pictures — plus prepared comments. I very much hope that in the end everything will be as I imagine and hope it will be!
~~~
Invitation
I would like to invite my most loyal readers, who regularly left me their wonderful comments on every chapter, to discuss with us — my beta reader HeinrichVSA and me — on my newly founded Discord server, ask questions, share ideas and much more. As you know, I wrote a question mark after the words "The End" at the end of the novel. Maybe you would like to participate in a possible sequel? Who knows ...
Just send me a short message as a DM on my fanfic blog and I'll reply with a Discord invite link for you.
Thank you so much again for sticking with me until the end!

Frozen: Forces of Nature Podcast
Everything we know so far:
So as we all know and have been talking about for the past few days, there's a newly announced podcast called 'Frozen: Forces of Nature'. The podcast will tell a cannon story set after Frozen 2 and before Frozen 3. The podcast is going to be a 12 part series, 15 - 20 minutes each episode and this will be season 1. The story will feature two new characters; Queen Disa of Sankerhus and Wolfgang is the Duke of Weselton's nephew. It is set to release in October ahead of the 10th anniversary of the franchise (and the first movie). The plot goes as follows:
'The series follows Queen Anna, who has a lot on her plate – there are visitors in her Kingdom, a friend in need, and even the Duke of Weselton’s nephew skulking around – so when the Spirits of Nature start acting up, she knows she has to solve the problem – and fast – before things get more out of control. But when Anna and Elsa travel to the Enchanted Forest, they find mysterious copper machines that are disrupting the natural order of things. Who made these machines and what are they doing in the forest? And more importantly, how do Anna and Elsa stop them?'
In other official sources, they've given a little more detail about the events going on:
'Queen Anna has a lot on her plate. She has welcomed Disa, the Queen of the small neighboring nation and her people to Arendelle when their kingdom is flooded. Disa is eager to learn about the scientific nature of magic.
Also in Arendelle is Lord Wolfgang, the Duke of Weselton’s nephew, on an apology tour for his uncle’s behavior. He very much wants to secure Queen Anna’s forgiveness and hopes to convince the people of Arendelle of the merits of trade with Weselton.
When a mysterious fire happens at the castle and the Spirits of Nature start acting up Elsa, Anna, and Disa travel to the Enchanted Forest to uncover the cause, where they discover mysterious steam-powered copper machines: automatons.
Where do the automatons come from and what are they doing? Who is directing them? Most importantly, how do Elsa, Anna, and Disa stop them from upsetting the natural balance of the Enchanted Forest and Arendelle?'
So let's point out the key things here and other information in other official sources too:
- Anna is feeling the pressure of being Queen so far, which for me is no surprise given she wasn't prepared to be Queen so soon.
- The Duke of Weselton's nephew, Wolfgang is visiting Arendelle to apologize to Elsa and Anna on behalf of his uncle for the things he did in Frozen and restore the trading relationship of Weselton with Arendelle
- Queen Disa's Kingdom, Sankerhus, is flooded (most likely due to chaos in the forest) and hence she and her people temporarily move to Arendelle
- Sankerhus is one of the neighbouring Kingdoms of Arendelle, like the Southern Isles
- Queen Disa is intrigued by the "scientific nature of magic"
- A mysterious fire occurs in Arendelle castle which causes the spirits to go wild causing Elsa, Anna and Disa to travel to the Enchanted Forest where they discover steam - powered, copper machines called automatons
- The person who created these machines will most likely be revealed in the podcast
Some of you may be wondering why a podcast? Why not an official novel/ book? Why not a short? I was wondering the same thing when this was first announced. I had mixed feelings on this too. But the more I read posts and the more I thought about it the more I started seeing why the story was chosen to be in this format. I think with books and movies it's typical that that's how stories would be told to us. But I think Disney is trying a new way of telling stories without animation involved with audio steaming as a first of its franchises. It is said that it's also for parents to help kids reduce screen time and I also so that they save money for future animation projects especially for Frozen 3, which is a sensible thing to do honestly speaking. Perhaps they didn't make it a Short because the story was more detailed than just a simple one like Frozen Fever and Olaf's Frozen Adventure and the story would not fit in a short but a long enough to be a movie.
But you still might be unsure about the story of the podcast being with the whole nature Vs machine thing. But to be fair we don't know much about these machines or what their purpose is so we can't really say anything about it yet. All we know is that they are "steam powered, copper machines" and when I searched them up on Google I found images like these:
They sound (by the name of it) and look very appropriate for the time period Frozen is set in. But let's not panic if you're still unsure with the machines taking the focus. Frozen is about magic - in each and every movie, long or short, they've explored some kind of magic. So it's given they're not gonna go all out with this science Vs magic theme. The characters and their intentions in the story are the focus of the story. When the sisters find out about these machines they will stop them because it disturbs the enchanted forest. That's the point - to get rid of these machines. Obviously what this person is doing is wrong and has to stop and that's what the sisters will be doing in the first season of the podcast. Besides the podcast cast multiple seasons so this will be the plot for season 1 only.
And no this isn't going to be the plot of Frozen 3 or anything similar because why would they make it the plot of the podcast and not of Frozen 3? Frozen 3 will be entirely different from this podcast. We still have a couple more years til Frozen 3 is out with a rough estimate. They might drop some Frozen 3 plot hints in these podcasts and some of the characters might make an appearance in the upcoming movie but the plot will be different. but highly doubt they would make Frozen all industrial machinery. If the person behind these machines has a good intention they might use their machinery to help advance Arendelle just a little more (I'm guessing). But they won't play a role in it. Frozen is about the characters - some of which have magic! Elsa and Anna have no links to machinery or anything so let's not jump to conclusions and judge the story without, let alone listening to it, but it even being out yet.
I don't think the podcast will be crucial to the story in Frozen 3 so if some of you don't want to watch it by all means don't but Frozen 3 is something different altogether. I think they're just trying to expand the franchise and keep the fandom alive and talking and theorising in the run up to the movie because it's fine Frozen fandom would die done because Frozen 2 was originally going to be the last movie of the movie series, but now that's it not they want to make sure we're all back in the game again.
We only have theories of our own. Nothing is confirmed regarding Frozen 3 other than the fact that the main Original cast will be returning (voices of Elsa, Ann, Olaf and Kristoff (plus Sven!)) and that it will be run with a new director instead of Jennifer Lee. Who else will be returning or will be joining new, we have to wait and see.
New changes to something old we love is hard but we have to give it a try in order to see if the change was good or not.
But in conclusion to this post, that's all we know so far about the podcast. Hope some of you found this useful if you didn't know something about the podcast.

20 Questions for Fic Writers
Thanks so much for the tag, @walker-lister !
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
31 (how??)
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
449,431 (again, how??)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Doctor Who, a small dip into Critical Role (maybe soon some Baldur's Gate? :D)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. Star by Star 2. Song of Kalaya 3. A frozen moment 4. Calming the waves (the lone Critical Role fic makes the top five, all right!) 5. Taking it slow
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I do! Sometimes it takes longer than other times, but I do respond to all of them!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I'd say When it all comes crashing down. Regeneration fic, what else can I say?
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
A Dark & Verdant Door, maybe? Closest I've gotten to basically marrying Yaz and the Doctor, plus the possibility of a magical eternity in the forest together!
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Nope, or at least not to my face!
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Is the sky blue?? Yes, haha, and as for what kind I guess I'll say all sorts, but often with an emphasis on telepathy and how that could play a part in the proceedings.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
No BUT there's an thing sitting in my ideas document that's basically a fusion of thasmin and One Last Stop that I'd love to write, but I'd probably have to reread the book and take a bunch of notes, and so in the idea document it stays.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Not that I know of!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yeah! to know how it ends and still begin to sing it again (as if it might turn out this time), co-written with @timetravelbypen
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Thasmin, of course!
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
None that are partially published, but I have many, many WIPs sitting around that I probably won't get to! I'd say the closest to being abandoned is the third in the Echoes of War series, but I keep thinking about it because it's ridiculous that it's sitting there finished and just needs editing. But it's been in that state for a year, so I guess maybe it's time to let it go?
16. What are your writing strengths?
Uhhh always a tough question in these things! I think I come up with interesting ideas and twists on tropes!
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I ALWAYS struggle with feeling like I've made my plot into a weird soupy mess that doesn't entirely make sense, so I am constantly working on that aspect of my writing.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I don't think I'd go there because I wouldn't want to get it wrong!
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Oh geez I guess it would be Xena, back in the yahoo! groups mailing list days when a bunch of us would write stories about our Amazon OCs!
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
Well I hate to keep going on about An old police box, a tattered coat, and the constable who called herself the Doctor, but it really is my favorite. I also quite like Never Alone, because writing from the pov of a sentient painting was just too much fun.
I'll tag @timetravelbypen , @how-to-sit-gay , @timeandspacenovelist and @doctorinblue , if ya'll want to play along, as well as anyone else who wants to share!

I don't know if you've covered this yet, but could you please talk about Agnarr and Iduna's relationship to the girls and how they handled the separation/maybe your ideas of how they explained it to Anna and kept the secret? BTW, I LOVE your content! As a HUGE Frozie who adores the lore and Canon I feel like we'd be besties!!
Aww, thank you! It's always nice to meet fellow Frozen nerds. If you're interested, let me throw in some posts here from Arendelle Archives that go into Frozen Lore and books -
Annals of Frozen by saiten-gefroren
The Frozenverse by Winter Loves Summer
I've talked a bit about Agnarr and Iduna in the past. I had a two-part series on their choices and reasoning for the separation - Toughest Choices Part 1 and Toughest Choices Part 2. The only thing is that they're a bit old, so there might be some outdated info here and there. I've also written about Agnarr specifically on Fatherly Burdens - it is a bit more critical than my usual content though, but it's not inherently negative - I am still a big supporter of the parents.
Now, let's tackle all of your questions here; Sorry, it's gonna be a bit long haha.
---
Talk about Agnarr and Iduna's relationship to the girls.
From what we've seen in the films alone, in spite of everything, it seems that Anna and Elsa have a positive relationship with their parents. Anna runs and hugs them before they leave and builds a statue in their honor. Elsa never really blames them for what happened in her childhood and wanted to see what happened to them on the ship. Both girls mourn them heavily, and from the little interaction we've seen, they have a very loving relationship.
I know that many fans feel that there wasn't enough accountability held towards the parents, and there was a huge shift of blame toward Elsa rather than acknowledging how the parent's choices affected the girls. This is a flaw I've noticed as well. I do however love how Anna says in F2 "You are not responsible for their choices, Elsa." It gives the impression that the girls do realize that they are not responsible for what their parents chose to do, and even though it is small, it's a nice shout-out.
If you consider them canon, there's a bit of side content that goes into a lot more detail about these topics, particularly Forest of Shadows, Polar Nights, Dangerous Secrets, and True Treasure. These side stories push for more accountability for the parents, have the sisters talk about the separation slightly, and offer more explanations of the thought process of the parents.
---
How they handled the separation.
As I write about in my analyses, my overall view on the separation is that Agnarr and Iduna handled Elsa's magic the best they could. They were faced with an impossible situation with very little knowledge - the only information they had was the trolls vaguely telling them that Elsa could be hurt if she can't control her powers.
Another thing we have to take into consideration is that no matter how we spin it, Elsa's magic is dangerous. Many fans tend to relate Elsa's magic to real-life emotional, physical, mental, and intellectual attributes. I think this is where a lot of the disdain for the parents comes in - they want the narrative to treat the parents as though they are parents of a child who had an attribute that was not accepted by their society so they decided to keep her hidden. However, Elsa's magic is a physical manifestation that can and has hurt people and can't really be compared to real-life attributes. Thus, we can't hold Agnarr and Iduna to this same standard.
So basically, the parents were faced with a double-edged sword. Either place Elsa in a controlled environment so that they can try and figure out how Elsa's magic works - which leads to isolation and self-hatred. Or, let Elsa go on as before like nothing happened and the parents are just more vigilant - but now Elsa has trauma from hurting Anna and is more on edge, leading to another accident because her powers are tied to her emotions, risking her powers being revealed.
Neither option is ideal and leads to problems with Elsa's psyche and safety, but the first option at least gives a bit more freedom for the parents to try and figure out a better solution - and they did figure out a better solution, but they died trying to reach it. Overall, the story of the parents is very difficult and tragic, and no easier solutions are available because of the uniqueness of the situation.
---
Your ideas of how they explained it to Anna and kept the secret?
This is actually interesting.
Anna tends to place a lot of the blame for the separation on Elsa and also pushes Elsa specifically to stop keeping secrets from her. Many of the books also push that Elsa specifically kept her door closed and hid away, and the only thing we see in True Treasure is Iduna pushing for Anna to have faith that she and Elsa will be together again.
So it seems that maybe the parents...didn't really address it directly? I haven't really seen anything (unless I missed it) where the parents sit down and explain to Anna what's going on...which I guess makes sense with Anna's comment about how Elsa shut her out, and she never knew why. In fact, this sort of explains why the narrative tends to focus on Anna blaming Elsa for the separation - if the parents never addressed Elsa's behavior, then yea, Anna would think that Elsa was the issue.
In terms of my own ideas, I would think that they told Anna some kind of excuse like "Elsa's not feeling well." or "Elsa is studying and is really busy." I also wonder a lot about what excuse they had for closing the gates. "Your father works better without distractions." or maybe "We're working on an issue right now and can't have outside people snooping in."
I'm now going to be pondering the logic here for a long time - thank you haha.

How would you have made Helsa canon?
Okay there are 3 ways we can go about this.
Frozen. In the first Frozen, it's Elsa Hans meets, not Anna. It starts out with a dance, at first Elsa is hesitant, but Hans says please and Elsa could not refuse. Elsa finds a kindred spirit in Hans. Hans shares his mistreatment over the hands of his family and Elsa reveals that her parents made her conceal, don't feel. Hans says "maybe we're more alike than I thought, your majesty" Elsa tells Hans how she had to shut Anna out and Hans simply tells her "you were close, if you open up, I'm sure she would forgive you. Before Elsa goes to see Anna, Hans gives Elsa a winter rose. And Elsa smiles like she's never before. More of the events of the first movie happens. Elsa and Anna reunite, Elsa loses control and shuts Anna and Hans out and Let It Go. Anna and Kristoff's journey. When Hans comes to save Elsa at her castle. Hans tells Elsa she's not a monster, the powers she wields are beautiful, and for once in her life, Elsa doesn't view this power as a curse and the warmth from Hans begins to thaw out the ice. And more or less goes like this fan comic. It's the Duke Of Weselton who's the villain.(you know the obvious asshole who has a problem with Elsa having powers). Elsa and Anna's love for each other saves each other. Elsa and Hans get married and Elsa tosses the bouquet towards Anna and Kristoff and winks at her sister. Elsa finds someone who understands her and helps her embrace her powers and someone who helped bring her and Anna back together. Hans found something worth even more than a throne. Love and magic. True love. And Hans has what he always wanted. A family. A King with his Queen
Frozen 2. Remember the Frozen 2 teaser that shows Anna picking up a sword? In my opinion, that was supposed to be Hans. But let's say that is Hans. Hans intentions are to seek help from Elsa because of the crisis and mostly he just wants to escape to the Enchanted Forest to escape the torment of his family. Absolutely no one trusts him and Hans journey is not about escape, but redemption. Also I like chooarts and other Helsa fanartists depiction of Hans having a beard. But anyways, the fire spirit latches onto Hans.(more on that later) When Elsa leaves Anna behind, Hans goes to find her. When Hans finds her, she's frozen like in the movie. The fire spirt bonds with Hans and Hans uses his new found power to save Elsa. Elsa, Hans, Anna and Kristoff together save the Enchanted Forrest. And Elsa tells Hans she forgives him and they hold hands and embrace in a hug an teasing for something more. And Olaf makes a joke about the two lovebirds while Elsa and Hans turn redder than fire. Eventually Anna forgives Hans. He saved Elsa and helped save the Enchanted Forest and Arendelle and Hans wishes her the best with Kristoff, he is a better man for her than he could've been. And they part as friends. Where Elsa found the place she belongs, Hans found his belonging with Elsa, because the Fifth Spirit needs the Fire spirit to stay whole. Anna takes her place as Queen with Kristoff, while Elsa and Hans stay in the Enchanted Forest.
Frozen 3. Hans' father and 12 brothers intend to invade Arendelle. They see Arendelle as vulnerable without Elsa. So Hans goes to the Enchanted Forest to warn Elsa. And together Elsa and Hans would save Arendelle together. I also think it should be revealed that Hans has Fire Powers. In the process of working together, Elsa and Hans begin to fall for each other and Elsa finally learns to forgive Hans for what he's done. And with Elsa as a master of ice and Hans a master of fire, Fire & Ice together saves the day and unites two kingdoms.

Cursed to a Foreign Land- Chapter 1
Author Note: So, while I work on finishing my other WIP/working on the next chapters to stuff, I decided to pull out a rough draft I had sitting in my draft folder. I wrote this when the game House of Ash came out. I just never got around to fixing it up and posting it. So this is a work of fanfiction about a borrower child that gets magically transported to Iraq. He is found by my favorite character, Salim. I broke up into smaller parts. You should be fine with reading this without any knowledge of the game. If there is mention of vampires, Zeddle will also be confused too. (He doesn't even know what a vampire is) I hope you enjoy it!
*****
"Zeddle, don't wander too far!" his mother's voice echoed from their hidden home. "I won't, mom!" he called back. He was a responsible ten-year-old borrower boy, and today, like every day, he was helping his family gather supplies and caring for his two younger sisters, Flare and Varsha. His family lived in a big borrower colony deep in a lush forest. Zeddle had only heard stories of humans; he’d never seen the bigger counterpart. His home was hidden away from human civilization. Humans never ventured that deep into the wilderness. The only danger they had besides wild animals was the threat of a giant witch of woods. It was said the witch looked like a human and was probably the reason, that kept humans out. Unfortunately, the Witch of the Woods had little love for the tiny people and would often curse them, or borrowers would go missing to never be seen again. Zeddle was always told to run and hide if he encountered this danger.
While foraging for food and materials for his parents and keeping an eye on his younger siblings, Zeddle felt the air around him go cold.
Suddenly, a twisted figure emerged from the shadows – the giant witch of the woods. "Well, well, what have we here?" she crooned, her voice dripping with malice. "Ah, what a delicious morsel you are," she cackled, her voice like nails on a chalkboard. She towered over Zeddle. Zeddle turns to his sisters. “Run!” Zeddle shouted to his little sisters. The twins turned and booked it back home. Zeddle turned to distract the Witch from his sisters. “Hey, down here, you ugly hag!” The Witch sneered at him, waved a gnarled hand over him, and, with an evil grin, whispered, "Begone!" Suddenly, everything went dark, and Zeddle felt his body being tossed through space. When he landed, he found himself dangling from strings tied to his limbs. Zeddle's heart hammered in his tiny chest as the strings cut into his wrists and ankles. The hot desert sun beat down on him, leaving him sunburnt and parched. His mouse-skin shirt and pants felt way too warm for this weather. He had no idea where the witch had sent him. Around him towered massive humans, their thunderous voices booming in a language he could not comprehend. Zeddle craned his neck, peering around the stall that held him captive. Rows of lifeless puppets surrounded him, their dead eyes and frozen smiles taunting him. He had to get free before one of the giants noticed he was alive. Zeddle twisted his wrists, wincing as the strings dug deeper. It was no use. He was bound too tightly. A bead of sweat trickled down his forehead as he watched the giants meander past. Zeddle's mind raced. How would he get back home? Did his family even know he was missing? He thought of his little sisters Flare and Varsha, how frightened they must be. A lump formed in his throat.

Disney princess + prince ver. headcanons part 2
@seok02 this is for u 💜
Once again for everyone, this is very, very unserious and also I've lost count of how many tequila shots i've had so there's that [pls drink responsibly]
-> Prince Rickveen + Guntiana (The Princess and the Frog)
Gunwook just be hustling
like boy just wants to debut but he be coming off a lil too scary
Meanwhile Ricky just swanning around
until one of the yuehuaz does voodoo on him
idk which one
they just do it bc the thought be like yk what would rlly be fucking funny
So now they have an angry ricky frog chasing after them
except frogs aren't really scary
They tell Ricky the voodoo will only reverse if he can help turn someone's image around
And he's like wtf but then Gunwook finds him
Somehow voodoo makes Gunwook a frog too
They have to work together to not be frogs and debut
it all works out in the end
This made no sense at all
I will rewrite it when i am more sober
-> Mattpunzel + Gyuvin Rider (Tangled)
Matthew is taken to Canada when hes a baby bc of his magical hair
starring Mnet as mother gothel bc theyre the only real villain
Somehow 18 years later, he's wondering where he came from
Gyuvin finds him somehow, definitely gets hit w Matt's frying pan
He's on the run from an angry Hao and the other Yuehuaz for touching Yujin's face too much
Yes that's a crime now
They're both confused but Matt wants Gyuvin to take him back to Korea so he can find his roots
A lot of dumb and dumber antics
That one song at the Snugly Duckling except its Woongki and Seowon leading the rest of the girlypops in a full production of how they dream of doing an Idol Drag show
This is also making no sense at all im so sorry
We shall see it to the end
Mnet snatches Matt back
Gyuvin's like hell no
Gives Matt a haircut so Mnet can't use him no more
Nearly gets killed by Hao when he's found because you don't just give ppl haircuts w/o asking permission
Matt lives happily ever after, having found where he belongs with his bestie Gyuvin and his Jiwoon-hyung and Zhang Hao and the kids
Yes Shanbin is Pascal, someone cast Maximus
This is a mess thanks
-> Prince Yujin + Sleeping Gyuvin (Sleeping Beauty)
Hopefully this will go a little better bc older gen disney movies are easier to mess with
Gyuvin getting cursed as a child to always sleep like a flying tuna if ever he happens to prick his finger
Somehow gets sent to live with fairy godmothers, Hao, Hoetaek and Hanbin
It's a mess but the vocals are on point, Gyuvin always packing snacks for them
They try their best but Gyuvin doesn't get out there much
Gets spotted by Yujin in the forest one day, boy tries to be subtle when he stares (he's not)
Gyuvin giving massive criminally offensive side eye to that other boy who's doing a very bad job of hiding
Realises Yujin is baby and brings him home to the godmothers
He proceeds to slay their hearts with a Hyung saranghaeyo
Oh and Gyuvin pricked his finger a long time ago
So he's been sleeping like a tuna ever since
Special mentions!
-> Captain Gunwook Shang + Haolan (Mulan)

CAMPFIRE SCENE - Definitive Edition
I already made some posts in the past listing curiosities or differences involving the “campfire scene” between Elsa and Honeymaren, but since I hadn't made a post yet gathering everything in one place and we are in Lesbian Visibility Week, I decided to do it.
THE ORIGINAL CAMPFIRE SCENE THAT WAS FEATURED IN THE MOVIE “FROZEN 2″
(the original text is from the Novelization, but I adapted it to match 100% with the movie)
Honeymaren and Elsa are sitting by a fire, a baby reindeer is lying next to Elsa getting a cuddle, Iduna's scarf is draped over Elsa's thighs. Honeymaren just tasted the soup from the wooden bowl. “I want to show you something. May I?” Honeymaren asked. Elsa nodded. Honeymaren reached for one end of the beautiful burgundy scarf that had belonged to Elsa’s mother and gesture to the snowflakes on it. She identified the symbols on the points of one snowflake. “You know air, fire, water, earth.” “Yes,” Elsa said. “But look.” Honeymaren touched a diamond in the center of the snowflake, a symbol Elsa had never noticed before. “There’s a fifth spirit.” Honeymaren smiled at the surprised expression on Elsa’s face. “Said to be a bridge between us and the magic of nature.” Elsa was shocked. “A fifth spirit?” “Some say they head it call out the day the forest fell,” Honeymaren said. She had Elsas full attention. “My father heard it,” said Elsa. “Do you think that’s who’s calling me?” Elsa asked. “Maybe.” Honeymaren smiled. “Alas, only Ahtohallan knows”. Elsa smiled back, recalling that her mother had said the same thing to Anna and herself when they were children. “Ahtohallan-” With the scarf over her thighs, Elsa remembered the words of her mother's lullaby that she had sung to her and Anna when they were little. She half sang and half spoke the words aloud.
“Dive down deep
into her song”
Honeymaren smiled again, recognizing the song and singing along with Elsa.
“But not too far
or you’ll be downed”
“Why do lullabies always have to have some terrible warning in them?” Honeymaren asked once they had finished.
“I wonder that all the time,” Elsa said.
Suddenly, the ground shook from a distant boom like thunder. But no lightning followed to electrify the sky.
“Earth Giants,” Honeymaren said.
CAMPFIRE SCENE WAS ALSO ONE OF THE MOMENTS THAT HAD CUTS
The “campfire scene” for anyone who watched the “Frozen 2” documentary or saw this tweet knows that it was one of the moments in the film that were changed.
And that at least three shots were cut.
We don't have confirmation of what they were and honestly I don't even believe that one day we will, and although I like fanfics imagining they were important I believe in the justifications given in the documentary for the cuts in the film: making the plot more dynamic for all audiences although I don't know how some phrases could be considered non-dynamic, but whatever.
VARIATION OF THE CAMPFIRE SCENE 1 - Novelization
The official book of the film states that this scene has only 3 differences: it does not specify in the book if Honeymaren was eating the soup or not, the position of the scarf in the book is on the shoulders while in the film it is on the thighs (this change in the position of the scarf happens almost everywhere from the movie to the books), and there are no lyrics for the duet though it does happen.
Honeymaren and Elsa walked over to the logs around a campfire and sat down. A baby reindeer ran up, nuzzling and rubbing its head on them. Elsa stroked the little reindeer’s back as she thought about everything that had happened since they’d entered the forest.
“I want to show you something. May I?” Honeymaren asked. Elsa nodded. Honeymaren reached for one end of the beautiful burgundy scarf that had belonged to Elsa’s mother and gesture to the snowflakes on it. She identified the symbols on the points of one snowflake. “You know air, fire, water, earth.”
“Yes,” Elsa said.
“But look.” Honeymaren touched a diamond in the center of the snowflake, a symbol Elsa had never noticed before. “There’s a fifth spirit.” Honeymaren smiled at the surprised expression on Elsa’s face. “Said to be a bridge between us and the magic of nature.”
Elsa was shocked. “A fifth spirit?”
“Some say they head it call out the day the forest fell,” Honeymaren said.
“Ahtohallan-“ She drew the scarf tightly around her shoulders, remembering the words to the words to the lullaby her mother had soothed them with. She half sang and half spoke the words aloud.
Honeymaren smiled again, recognizing the song and singing along with Elsa.
VARIATION OF THE CAMPFIRE SCENE 2 - The Enchanted Forest
Although small this book is one of the most interesting versions of the film having several differences or additions to the plot of “Frozen 2″ and obviously the “campfire scene” is one of those moments. Could those extra phrases shared between Elsa and Honeymaren be among the cut moments? Well, this book could be an early script for the movie, but anyway, I don't logically believe that it would be every moment for the descriptions.
Anna smile she glanced up when Elsa walked by talking with Honeymaren.
The campfire cracked and pop as Honeymaren and Elsa sat here it’s warm glow.
“Tell me about the voice.” Honeymaren said as she petted a baby reindeer that had wandered over looking for attention. “What makes you so sure they have the answers?”
“Because they speak to a part of me that no one’s ever been able to reach,” Elsa resonded, holding her hand out for the reindeer to sniff.
Honeymaren looked intrigued. “What part is that?” she asked.
“The part of me that’s magic,” Elsa said.
Honeymaren throught for a moment, “I want to show you something. May I?”
The queen nodded. Honeymaren showed her a part of her mother's scarf. She pointed to the snowflakes that adorned it. She showed Elsa the symbols on the flakes.
“You know air, fire, water, earth,” observed Honeymaren, then pointed to the diamond in the center that connected them all. “But look. There’s a fifth spirit. Said to be a bridge between us and the magic of nature.”
“A fifth spirit?” Elsa asked, intrigued.
“Some say they head it call out the day the forest fell”.
The queen's eyes sparkled.
“Do you think that’s who’s calling me?”
“Maybe. Alas, only Ahtohallan knows”.
“Ahtohallan”, Elsa repeated with a smile. She remembered her mother saying the same thing when she and her sister were children, asking a thousand questions: Only Ahtohallan knows.
When she put them to sleep at night, Anna and Elsa's mother would sing them a lullaby about Ahtohallan. It was about a mysterious river that had all the answers about the past.
As a child, Elsa wanted to find the river and ask questions. For as long as she could remember, she wanted to learn more about herself and her magic. Why does she have powers? Were there others like her? And if so, would Ahtohallan know them? At that moment, in front of the bonfire, she realized that... it was strange, but being in the Enchanted Forest made her think that she would soon get some of the answers she so desired.
She brought the scarf up to her chest and squeezed it tight. She could almost hear her mother's lullaby. She started to sing and Honeymaren joined in with a smile. The Northuldra woman was surprised that Elsa knew the melody.
“Why do lullabies always have to have some terrible warning in them?” Honeymaren asked.
“I wonder that all the time,” admitted Elsa with a giggle.
Suddenly, a BOOM was heard in the distance which interrupted their laughter and caused the queen to shudder.
“What was this?” Elsa asked.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! The ground under everyone's feet began to shake violently with each bang.
Honeymaren paled, she rose quickly and said:
“Earth Giants”.
REPRESENTATIONS AND ADAPTATIONS OF THE CAMPFIRE SCENE 1 - Comic
Another representation of the “campfire scene” that skips the duet moment.
REPRESENTATIONS AND ADAPTATIONS OF THE CAMPFIRE SCENE 2 - Manga
The differences with the manga are one of the most interesting for including a feeling in the scene that the original didn't explicitly have.
Arina Tanemura at various points in this manga included or expanded on the feelings of certain scenes. That's not to say it didn't exist in the original, Elsa very well could have those feelings at the beginning of the duet with "All is Found", but the film prefers to express a more fun and joking feeling that happens at the end of the lyrics as the manga addresses the feelings that are at the beginning. But as I said Arina Tanemura really liked to make the moments more sentimental like Elsa at the end giving a sign to Honeymaren and Ryder that in the manga it really seems that Honeymaren has an expression of being in love or at least enchanted with the Snow Queen.
REPRESENTATIONS AND ADAPTATIONS OF THE CAMPFIRE SCENE 3 - Descriptions
There are at least four descriptions that I know of the “campfire scene” where they put the image and some text. The fourth description is not included here, the only difference being that it refers to Honeymaren only as "Northuldra woman".
Elsa and Honeymaren become friends. They talk about the spirits.
At the campfire, Honeymaren showed Elsa the spirits of nature symbolized on her mother’s scarf. Elsa was surprised to learn about a fifth spirit called the bridge. It was said to connect the magic of nature to humans and it disappeared when people stopped listening.
A young Northuldra woman named Honeymaren showed Elsa the spirits of nature on Elsa’s mother’s scarf. Elsa was surprised to discover there was a fifth spirit: ‘the bridge’. It was said to connect the magic of nature to humans, but it had disappeared when people stopped listening.
REPRESENTATIONS AND ADAPTATIONS OF THE CAMPFIRE SCENE 4 - Toys
And the “campfire scene” was technically split into two parts: "Forest Expedition" which has Honeymaren and "Campfire Friend" which has everything else in the Campfire Scene including another Elsa. So if you recreate this scene you have to buy two sets instead of one.
REPRESENTATIONS AND ADAPTATIONS OF THE CAMPFIRE SCENE 5 - Frozen 2 as told by Emoji Disney
There is no “campfire scene”, as this is one of the skipped moments and after the conversation with Yelana already placing the Earth Giants moment. But I include more here to show this adaptation of the visual, and that at the end they put together “You Belong Up Here” with the moment of Elsa riding the Nokk and waving to the Nattura brothers.
BONUS 1 - The Campfire Scene Prologue
This is completely speculative, but this theory makes so much sense to me that I can't help but talk about it.
I believe this concept art by Jim Kim is also part of the “campfire scene”, or as theorized in a fanfic, is the reason for it to happen. But this is purely theory as there is other concept art imagining moments of interactions between the Arendelle delegation and the Northuldras that are more difficult to fit into the passage of time. But of all the post-Bruni conversations, Elsa and Honeymaren's campfire conversation is the only one that doesn't actually have a prior introduction or reason for happening. You can even mention that Honeymaren talked about the scarf and that was the motivation, but to be honest the reason the women approach doesn't seem to have anything to do with the scarf, the conversation about the scarf happened on Honeymaren's idea. If Elsa wanted information about the Northuldras, Iduna or the scarf she probably would have gone to talk to Yelana, but in the movie she seems to have only decided to sit down with Honeymaren because she wanted to talk to her alone and the conversation about the scarf happened by accident, if Anna had gotten scarf the conversation about Fifth Spirt would not have happened and the two women would have just talked about other things.
Now, the reason why my theory about concept art is the connection point: Honeymaren is officially called a big fan of magic due to having some knowledge on the subject, so in my opinion, she asked Elsa to show a little bit of her magic and the Snow Queen, seeing how enthralled she was by it (Jim Kim's concept art) decided to go sit down with her to have a private conversation, whether or not it was about magic. I'm a self-confessed ElsaMaren shipper, but I can't help thinking that there must have been one more reason why a serious and focused person like Elsa decided to talk to Honeymaren instead of the tribe leader who was the person she was talking to earlier and who probably has a lot more knowledge.
A beautiful recreation of this scene by Kelly Erosen (https://twitter.com/kellyerosen/status/1645807089481297925).
BONUS 2 – The Campfire Scene was maybe recreated in “Raya and the Last Dragon”
It may or may not be a coincidence, but:
Two girls sitting close together with something between them
A meal near them
A pet close to women
Their conversation involves interacting with items that have stories related to the plot of the movie.
And if you want to consider this too: there are many similar camera angles with Namaari playing Honeymaren and Raya playing Elsa
The only big difference is that there isn't a duet moment between the girls, but even the pace of the conversation is pretty similar with the more relaxed air. Peter Del Vecho and Kim Hazel herself, who was responsible for the “campfire scene”, also worked on this film, so this theory of inspiration being confirmed would be no surprise.
If you have any more items to add, please add them.
